hello everyone, welcome to my first blog post here! thanks for taking the time to check out my stuff, happy to have ya here :) i've had my blog page finished for quite a while now, but i left it unpublished because i had no posts to release it with. no better way to get it started than by easing into things with a general post, i'd say!
as for life updates, nothing too special has been happening. some personal matters that i don't care to share, at most. i'm not sure whether to be bored or grateful for these uneventful times, although i recall a wise man saying "this peace is what all true warriors strive for"...
been into dungeon meshi lately. good stuff! they really did the unthinkable and made a fantasy series i actually like, like a lot. insane! maybe i'll write about my thoughts in a seperate post sometime, but for now i'm holding off as i'm still making my way through the series. anyway, holm avatar on this post because he's grown on me rapidly these past few days. holm is where the heart is, as they say :)
what's also notable though, is i've been more focused on creative projects as of late. sometimes i just get the ball rolling, and so it goes. speaking of which, i've had quite the influx of ideas for this site! some standard pages are in the works (shrines, outgoing links page), as well as some more original ones. i applied to some webrings too (recently got accepted into the cookie run webring), it's starting to feel like my site is finally taking shape! may 2025 bring updates, motivation, and ideas aplenty.
i recently discovered an absolutley delightful cover of masayoshi takanaka's album, seychelles, in the mario 64 soundfont. shoutout to JQHN on youtube for making it, as well as the album art! if my code is working as it should, it's the audio that's been autoplaying this whole time. if not, here is the video.
even if you're unfamiliar with takanaka's music, or don't usually listen to mario 64 covers, i strongly recommend listening to this one. it's wonderfully made, and a true treat for the ears, even for those unfamiliar witht the source material. my personal favourite song on this cover is "Sayonara...... Fuji-san" which starts at 23:23. i'm quite a fan of masayoshi takanaka, and while i may not be super into mario 64 covers, mario is my special interest, so this has been super exciting for me. i hear the creator is working on a cover for my FAVOURITE takanaka album, an insatiable high, which i couldn't possibly be more hyped for.
by the way, have you subscribed to my rss feed? ever since i made mine, i've been keeping up with the rss feeds of some of my favourite sites. it's been super convenient- being directly notified that there's been an update instead of having to check the sites manually. if you subscribe to mine, you'll be updated of new blog posts like this one, and major sitely changes. if you're interested but don't know how rss feeds work, feel free to reach out to me with questions.
regardless, thanks everyone for stopping by! i'll leave you with a quote i found online... "don't give up because you're not making progress right away. if february doesn't march, april may" corny? maybe. brought a smile to my face? absolutley.
