dude wake up new oc just dropped (jkjk he's from 2019 i just never introduced him here)
meet sandy! him and his (yet to be introduced) companion are the wario and waluigi to fergie and chortle's mario and luigi. although fergie has more in common with wario than mario. also she's not at all related to chortle, she even has a weird romantic tension with him that i can never decide to make canon or not... my argument is falling apart but you get what i mean. they're rivals.
he sits behind fergie in school and has (initially one-sided) beef with her. he's cocky and a bit of an asshole, but also passionate and loyal. mario is his hero, he saved him from a nightmare chunk during the events of dream team. despite idolizing the hero of the mushroom kingdom, he plays the role of early reoccurring antagonist in my perpetually unfinished story.
(he makes a squeaky toy noise if you squeeze him hard enough, but he doesn't want anyone to know that!!)

i went with stirzy because i wanted a challenge! his design is wicked cool, he has a unique feel to him.
the painting idea came from the thumbnail sketches, i thought "old royalty have portraits of themselves, why don't i put him in a painting too??" but that was a little limiting, so i drew him coming out of the painting instead.

uhh so my drawing program updated and moved the settings i use to make pixel art and i only found it again recently bc i'm a dumbass.
super mario 3d world is one of my top favourite games ever, i saw the switch port trailer and i got motivated to draw this today! honestly man, i just wish i had my artfight 2020 levels of motivation back- i drew something good almost everyday that month. everything isn't sunshine and rainbows though, so i take what i can get.

warioware gold was my fist warioware game, so for a while i only knew "short" orbulon. when i went to all the character's wiki pages i found old orbulon- and oh my god they made him a MANLET in gold
